Understanding peptide purity: a closer look at HPLC
Purity is one part of a research material’s specification. Analytical methods such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) help separate components so that a laboratory can characterize a sample.
A useful certificate of analysis identifies the material, batch, test method and reported result. Check that a certificate corresponds to the exact batch being considered, and discuss interpretation with your laboratory’s quality team.
A purity percentage alone does not establish identity, sterility, suitability for a particular experiment, or safety for human use. Evaluate the full specification against your approved research protocol.
